CyberAction, Inc. invented the concept of digitally animated trading cards and has created several different series of trading cards, one of which was Star Trek digital cards. They provide you a free program, a viewer, that downloads, stores and allows you to view the cards on your computer. The card sets are purchased online and when you next run the program, you will be able to download the new cards you purchased. Some sets, when purchased, open up a bonus card. The cards have short video clips, sort sound clips and text. They can be flipped to view both sides. They cover all 4 series and the movies and are individually numbered.
\nCyberAction released a boxed set of 9 CDROM\u2019s with the cards released to that point. Each CD is the shape and size of a trading card and each has a different card-like picture on one side. 6,000 of each CD was made, with 5000 having silver backs and 1,000 of each having gold backs. They can be bought individually or as a box of all nine. A box of 9 is guaranteed to have at least one gold-backed CD and can fit into a 9-pocket page card sheet.
\nCyberaction has produced no new CDROMS of late and their web site has been down since at least 2002. The cards, although unique, never took off in the card market as a *card* and many collectors never added them to their collections, though the promotional cards themselves remain popular.
\nSadly, since the website no longer exists, the viewers can not be registered and will not work.They continue to be collectible as card-shaped CD\u2019s, but if making a purchase, or changing computers, remember that if the viewer can\u2019t be verified, you can\u2019t see the cards you bought.<\/p>\n

Tips and Tricks<\/p>\n

Click on the front image to start the video clip. Click on the blue button on the Lower Right to \u2019flip the card over’. \u00a0See the little yellow scroll bars? You can click those to see the up and down text. \u00a0The yellow bar in the lower right flips it back over to the front. The White text in the left corner changes the back scenes.
\nSENSORY READINGS on some cards is a text clip. Click on the quotes to start the speech. Take three of the same cards..turn them over to the back and line them up in a row across. The image will change to a different image that covers all three cards.<\/p>\n
