Some collectors include stickers as part of their collection. Since stickers came with earlier card sets and many are card sized and/or shaped, they are a natural outgrowth of a card collection. This chapter deals with sticker sets or single stickers. Stickers that are part of a card set are covered with their respective cards descriptions.

Peninsula Vending Company put out a set of stickers. I found this packaging version of them that includes two stickers and a non-Trek sticker/tattoo.
Pennsylvania Vending Company Stickers
Released by Pennsylvania Vending Company/Cal Print & Graphics in 1996, this is a set of 28 trading card sized stickers, singly packed flat in cardboard to be distributed in vending machines. There were sightings of them actually IN vending machines in Australia. Dealers in the US were able to order directly from the company. The set has bright, crisp images and is bordered with a bright sparkle border. There is also a variation in the border style where it looks more cubed then sparkley. This cubed set is more difficult to put together as they appear much less frequently, possibly about 1 for every 10 sparkle sets. Three of the borders have a red color rather than a gold color. The red borders are the same three images in both the sparkle and cubed sets. A retail type product is also available, consisting of 10 4×6 stickers, packed in clamshells and placed on hooks in the stores. The images used are the same as are found in the smaller version. A retail packaging version of them includes two stickers and a non-Trek sticker/tattoo. |
Starfest 2000 Sticker Set
These very small (1″x 1 1/2″) stickers were found at the Starcon convention in Colorado in the fall of 2000. Convention goers had to visit several tables and areas of the shows to get all the stickers. This same company has created several trading card sized cards at earlier conventions. |

Panini Stickers
Panini put out several sticker sets over the years from TOS and TNG in several countries..
The first set was released in Germany, it consisted of 400 third season episode stickers with a 45 page album. The stickers measure 1 7/8″ x 2 3/4″. The first TNG set was released in several foreign markets, starting with Italy in 1978 . Packs include 5 stickers and came 100 packs to the box. There is 240 in the set. The series follows several first season episodes. It was also marketed for several different overseas countries. Backs state “Collect these stickers in the album available from your local shop” in several different languages. The set was released in the US briefly, but pulled due to licensing issues. The stickers measure 2″x 2 1/2″. In 1992, Panini sent out to retailers a poly-bagged binder, order form, sticker packet, some scratch-offtickets and uncut sheet of 6 stickers. These stickers have a 1992 copyright and are use red text. The sheet that accompanied to the poly-bag was in Hebrew, though the album itself lists a few different currencies, so may have had wider distribution. The Hebrew version also came with scratch-off tickets(1 7/8 by 3 1/8) for a contest with prizes listed on an insert sheet. This version also came in packets and a box, similar to the 1987 version. There is also a Portugese (from Brazil) version of the set, but little is known about it at this time. There are 240 stickers in the set, which measure 2″x 2 1/2″. In 1992, a US set was finally *officially* released by Baio and Company. An album and complete set of stickers on uncut sheets of 10 stickers was sold in US retail outlets. Text color is black. (Although the set retains the Panini name and copyright). |

The 54 stickers can be arranged on a large poster that has an image of Kirk, Spock and Ilia and various ST:TMP ships Uncut strips of the sticker sets can be found and are usually in fairly good condition. The stickers measure 1 1/2″x 1 1/4″. |
ST:TMP Vending Stickers
This is a set of 4 ST:TMP stickers found either flat or balled up in small capsules and released in vending machines. The stickers were intended to be put on glassware or used as a window decal. Popular thinking is that the flat stickers were from Burger King. However, a look at the marketing list for that year shows that Burger King did NOT have a license to offer Trek merchandise, but Avia did and it fits their style. Likely, the flat stickers were leftover stickers that never made it into balls or Avia may have worked with Burger King in a promotional. There are both red and black versions of the back text. They measure 2 x 3 1/8. |

Christie’s Sticker Set
These stickers were packed with Star Trek cookies and were sealed in a cello package in 1992. The backs are blank. A. H. Prismatic used these same holographic images in a multitude of products like keychains, uncut sheets and more. To be sure they are from Christie’s, make sure they are still sealed in the cello wraps (and look for telltale crumbs in the folds….!!!! Stickers measure 2×2. |
Oatfield Stickers
These holographic stickers came inside Oatfield Sherbert Filled Fruit Flavour Drops wrappers and were released by Wm McKinney & Sons in Irelan . They were to be applied to a small poster. Like the Fleer gum stickers from Germany, a box usually offered only 4 or 5 of the same numbers, making it difficult to complete a full set. Some uncut strips of stickers also made it into the marketplace. Both the outer and inner wrappers of the candies had Trek images. Released in 1997. |

Fritt Stickers
Fritt stickers is a series of card sized stickers in Germany and inserted into a Starbust type candy from 1995 to 1998. Since these trading card sized stickers are wrapped around a candy package, wrinkles and bends are common. The 1995 and 1996 sets contain images from all 4 Trek series. The 1997 set has a cartoon bubble with text added to the stickers. The l998 has the cartoon bubble and a small cartoon character on each sticker. Some people prefer to collect the whole wrapper and others want to trim them down to fit into 9 pocket pages. The outside of the package has an identifying sticker to let you know there is a ST sticker within. The images include USS Voyager, the TOS Enterprise and the cartoon character mentioned before. 1995 set-1-35 1996 set -1/30-30/30 1997 set -1/33-33/33 1998 set-1/33-33/33 |

Fleer TNG Stickers |
There are small stickers in this set. Scenes are mostly from the first Season. The stickers were wrapped around pieces of bubble gum, so wrinkles are common. A box of bubble gum contained 150 pieces of gum, but unfortunately, a box only contains 6-8 different stickers. Released in 1990 in Germany. |
