Star Trek Legend Cards

In August of 2003, Rittenhouse released what is to be part of an ongoing series of cards called the Legend of Star Trek. Every three months, Rittenhouse plans on releasing a sealed 9-card set based on different ST Legends. The first featured character was Captain Kirk and has a foil stamp on the front. Each set is numbered to 1701 and collectors have the opportunity to get the same number with each series.

  • On February, 27, 2008, Rittenhouse released a second binder, more of a standard 3-ring binder to hold future sets of Legends.
  • The 10th Anniversary set took the 3-card sets released for Scotty, Chekov, Sulu, Rand, Chapel and Uhura from their original 3-cards each to a full 9-cards each. Rittenhouse had this to say about the set: “It has been 10 years since we issued the very first Legends of Star Trek sets, and in 2003, we could not have envisioned just how popular these sets would become. After issuing 9-card sets for Kirk, Spock and McCoy, we combined Scotty, Uhura and Sulu into one set, with only 3 cards apiece; and then Chekov, Rand and Chapel into another set, also with three cards apiece. In hindsight, we feel that we have not done justice to these vitally important characters of the original Star Trek mythology. With that said, we are offering 6 more cards of each of these 6 characters — 36 cards in all — so that collectors can fill in their sets, for a total of 9 cards for each character. The card numbering and the sequential numbering for these cards will be filled in appropriately (e.g. Scotty will have cards L4-L9, with L9, the last card, including the sequential numbering to 1,701)”. This set included:
  • Legends of Star Trek: Scotty (L4-L9)
  • Legends of Star Trek: Sulu (L1-L3, L7-L9)
  • Legends of Star Trek: Uhura (L1-L6)
  • Legends of Star Trek: Chekov (L4-L9)
  • Legends of Star Trek: Rand (L1-L3, L7-L9)
  • Legends of Star Trek: Chapel (L1-L6)
  • The 2015 Legends Expansion set released 9/23/2015 and featured 9-cards of Kes, 9 cards of Neelix, and 6 cards each of Wesley, Geordi and Tasha Yar (to finish off their sets)
